	Sports & Recreation The Triangle has professional and collegiate teams in every sport. Long known as a basketball mecca, the athletic programs at NC State, UNC and Duke are nationally ranked in other sports as well. Raleigh is home to the Carolina Hurricanes who were runner up in the Stanley Cup Playoffs in 2001, and to the Carolina Courage Women's Soccer Team. Durham hosts the Triple A Durham Bulls, and the Double A Carolina Mudcats make their home in Zebulon.
